Mission & Values

Our Mission

To guide individuals to Rediscover the Joy of Eating, Reconnect with Their Body, and Reclaim Their Life from Disordered Eating and Negative Body Image. We are dedicated to creating a weight inclusive, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive healing environment where every person’s unique journey towards a healthy relationship with food, body, and self is honoured, respected, and empowered.

Our Values

Compassion and Empathy: We approach every individual with kindness, understanding, and a deep sense of empathy. We recognize that healing can be challenging, and we are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where every person feels heard and valued.

Trauma-Informed Care: We are committed to a trauma-informed approach that acknowledges the impact of past trauma on eating behaviors and body image. We prioritize safety, trust, and collaboration, tailoring our interventions to each person’s unique experiences and needs.

Weight-Inclusive Philosophy: We reject weight-centric approaches to health and instead adopt a weight-inclusive perspective. We support individuals of all body sizes in finding a path to improved health, focusing on behaviours, overall well-being, and self-acceptance, rather than pursuing arbitrary weight goals.

Empowerment and Autonomy: We empower individuals to take an active role in their journey. We believe in fostering autonomy and helping individuals build the skills and resilience needed to make informed choices about their health and well-being.

Continuous Growth and Learning: We are dedicated to ongoing professional development and learning, staying updated on the latest research and treatment modalities to ensure that we offer the most effective care possible.

Holistic Well-being: We believe in addressing the whole person, recognizing that mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects are interconnected. Our services focus on promoting overall well-being and self-acceptance, not just symptom management.

Client-Centered Care: We place clients at the heart of our practice. Our approach is guided by the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each individual, ensuring that our services are tailored to support their specific journey.

Inclusivity and Diversity: We celebrate diversity in all its forms and are dedicated to providing competent and inclusive care. We respect the unique backgrounds, identities, and experiences of every individual we serve.

Anti-Oppressive Approach: We are committed to dismantling oppressive systems and biases that contribute to health inequities. Our practice actively works to challenge weight stigma, discrimination, and systemic inequalities that affect individuals’ access to care and well-being.

Evidence-Based Practices: Our interventions are grounded in the latest research and clinical best practices. We continuously evaluate and refine our approaches to ensure the highest level of care and efficacy.

Collaboration and Community: We recognize the importance of a strong support system in the recovery process. We actively collaborate with clients, their families, and other healthcare providers to create a network of care and encouragement.
